Park And Activity

Well, this is not very exciting. After being up all night, being totally exhausted, and having a miserable chest cold, I actually did not go to the parks today.
It is our tradition that Nick and I go to Magic Kingdom on the last day, and he refused to go without me. I really wish he had gone, and got one last half day in before we had to leave.
I slept late, and was taking medicine on and off. We checked out at 11, then went and sat on the front porch of the Boardwalk, where there are rockers. This was nice, until the smokers came.
We then sat down by the water front, and waited for the pizza window to open. It does not open until noon. Yes, we had three pizzas at Spoodles this trip. That is awfully good pizza. I was able to enjoy it a little bit more than the night before.
We used up our table and snacks, but not our counter service. They are a bit too restrictive on what counts as counter, and there are especially few choices at the resort (well, Boardwalk, anyway).
We then sat in the rockers and watched the gorgeous day, dozing on and off.
We had a great ride to the airport with Tiffany Town Car. I think I am going to keep doing Tiffany. I know its an extra expense (and not cheap), but it is better than taking a bus with a million other people.
We were not too late getting out, about a 45 minute delay. We came home to a lot of snow.
Complaints?
Disney has rules, but does not enforce them. Disney wants to avoid confrontations with guests, and does not tend to push the rules.
The smokers have decided they can smoke anywhere, anytime they want. Every nook and cranny that used to be pleasant and out of the way is now filled with smoke. But, it is worse than that.
I watched a guy walking down the middle of the street in Harambi village, puffing away.
For some amazing reason, a certain percentage of people have decided that the strollers should be used as battering rams.
Many of us are now wearing bruises and scrapes, but if somebody gets seriously hurt, Disney is going to have a liability problem for not doing anything about this.
I would like to complain about the cell phones, but people actually seemed a little less intrusive than on our last trip.
Also, the flash photography was not as bad as usual.
Are people actually becoming more considerate about certain things?
Enough of the whining. Being sick must have just put me in that mood.
Looking back, this was a wonderful trip. We had some good luck, and some bad luck. Getting sick was not great, but we were lucky to get here, considering the weather.
The crowds in the first half of the trip did not surprise us, but they did in the second half of the trip. Was something going on that made people stay after the first of the year?
It was so much fun to be with Nick at this age. He has his own ideas of what he wants to do, and what is fun. But, he is a real sport about being with us, and there is so much he still enjoys abou the place. I also really, really loved the Boardwalk. As neat as Old Key West is, the Boardwalk is my first choice for next trip.
It will be at least 15 months before we are back, because our next big trip is during spring break next year. Longer if we cruise instead, which seems likely. Farewell to the world, until next time.
