Magic Kingdom, Travel Day, Parting Thoughts

Some of the pages in this trip report are up to my old standards, some are not. This one is one of the ones that is not. But, this has taken forever to get posted, and better this than nothing.

So, some freeform text, and a handful of pictures. And, I still have one more trip to write about!!

The bus driver does not talk anymore. The prerecorded message is ok, but I can remember getting some interesting perspectives from the bus drivers. I noticed this is changed on a couple of rides also, like the tram tour and the land ride. I guess they decided voice acting is a specialization, and they did not wan tohave to find drivers who could talk. I miss the old way.

The stollers and phones, beleive it or not, were less annoying than before. Maybe because the crowds were lighter, the stoller people were less aggressive. Maybe people have had their cell phones long enough now that they know waht is rude and what is OK.

the smokers, however, are worse than ever. how annoying can you be? smoke anywhere at anytimge, stinking up the whole place.

Great litte ride out to the airport on Tifany. talkative driver, originally from NYC, but has been in Orlando a long time. sure beats a stinky bus, although it is $100 round trip now.

food is a lot more eexpensive than it used to be. just about every table service was over $120. But, that includes deserts, and sometimes appetizers, and desert would not be normal if we were not on the DDP. Even with the extra high cost of food, I don't think the DDP is worth it.

We all noticed a decline in Disney service overall on this trip. I heard later that there had been some pretty big cutbacks in staff, and it just confirmed my suspicions. You can tell that people are still really working at it, but are stretched thin. Alos, in spit of the light crowds, there were long waits in certain places, and trouble getting things like resteraunt reserves (did not get everything I wanted, about a month before). That all indicates staff cutbacks. The service was still good, but not knock you on your ass good as we have come to expect.

I went to mk all by myself for 2 hours in the morning. sniff. Used to be nick and I. Did laugh floor again (slightly different show again). and one last perfect turn on Hm. Walked around slowly, ate a choc croisant and looked at the castle, slowly left the park. kind of bitterssweet end to the wek. missed Nick.

Uneventful plane ride home. Sleeping and listening to music. Nick doing some homework, debbie watching a rented ipod movie.
