Epcot, Hoop De Doo, Wilderness Lodge

This is not the best trip report I have ever done, but I simply had to get something finally finished and posted. Enjoy!

This may not be an interesting day. Slept until 11 AM. It was raining hard when we got up. All 3 of us were tired, and I was going to have a hard tie lighting a fire under either of my traveling companions.

Debbie and I walked down to the lobby, leaving Nick taking a shower in the room. We pu our names in at Whispering Canyons, and were told there would be a 45 minute wait for lunch. I went back to the room to fetch Nick, since it seemed we would have time. I also grabbed my camera, to take some resort shots while we were waiting.

But, by the time we got back, Debbie was motioning to us to come quickly, as they were ready to seat us. This seems to be happening a lot this trip--we are getting right into resterauns where we thought we neeed to wait.

The food was very good, and the service was great. Our waitress had a nice little sense of humor, and didn't mind teasing all of us.

We all had the all you can eat BBQ. Nick was hesitant about ordering it, and ending up wishing he had gotten a burger. But, Debbie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were chicken, ribs, very tasty sausage, portatoes, baked beans, corn on the cob, and cornbread. I also had a chocolate shake, which was great.

Somehow, we all had room for desert. Debbie had some vanilla ice cream, and I had a great slice of pecan pie. Nick had a slice of smores cheesecakke. All was good.

We were sitting right by the rail touching the lobby. This is such a beautiful place, with the 5 story Christmas tree adding to the already gorgeous decorations. The place is filled with giant lamps, totem poles, an enormous stone fireplace, and lots of little touches that reminded us of the time we had spent in Yellowstone years ago.

I fell to tempation, and sat with Debbie in the lobby for a while, working on trip reports, and some other things on my computer. Nick went back to the room and laid down. Actually, we went back to the lobby in the Villas building (it is a building near the main Wilderness Lodge, but not attached). Debbie sat reading her book, and occasionally ran upstairs to mind the laundary.

That washer and dryer in the room really makes packing a lot lighter, since you figure yo can get one wash in sometime during the trip. Usually, Debbie likes to stay back at the room one day, while Nick and I are out runnign around. Today, though, I did nothave the resolve to go out. Well, almost.

1:05 boat dock to epcot, boat and monorail.

Se a walk on, 4:50 pm

I still think this is a good ride, even if the message does not fit the selected scenes.

IBM at epcot very weak right now. Some dumb little survey, and that video game that uses your picture ad a crude avatar. But, they have often had great things at inmovenyions, may be back.

Looked for interesting things at innoventions. Not too hot right now.

Best things are that stormytracker 3d movie, and…

Raytheon has a simulator type ride. Looks a little like cyberspace mountain. Don't know if any of us would fit, looks a little small.

Beautiful Christmas trees at mk and epcot. But, no lighted arches at epcot, like a few years ago. Honestly, cutbacks are evident all over the parks.
Stopped at the fish and chips place in the UK. Not harry marsden's now, but terrific fish and chips.

I could actually see my breath. Kind of chilly for Orlando.

Listened to the British Invasion while eating, stayed for a while. These huys are a great tribute group. Music that makes me feel good. I was really young and innocent the first time I heard it.

heard a little bit of Off Kilter on the way over. They are good too.
The Hoop De Doo Musical Review was terrific! The food is very good. There are saucy BBQ ribs, fried chicken, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and a tossed salad. And there is a wonderful strawberry shortcake for desert. The singing and dancing are outstanding, and the comedy is clasically corny. We all had a great time, and had a table right near the stage.
It had been growing chilly all day (the rain did not last long though). On the way back from Hoop Dee Doo, it was downright cold.
