Disneys Hollywood Studios

This is not the best trip report I have ever done, but I simply had to get something finally finished and posted. Enjoy!

Up at 7:45. We did not leave the room until 10:00, because of packing.

We were able to leave our bags at the bell desk, since Tiffany would not pick us up until late at night.

It was bitter cold, but clear and dry.

The Studios must be hard to find. This is the second driver in a row that got lost on the way there. This guy turned around in a parking lot at one point, and headed back the way be came.

It took 40 minutes to get to the Studios, and he dropped us off at the charter bus lot.

On the way down Hollywood Blvd to the tower, we stopped to watch the street performers. It was pretty amusing.

We pulled a FP for RnRC, and stood in line for ToT. Sign said 30 minute wait. Wait was really 5 minutes, not counting the TV room.

Every single time I went on ToT, it scared me. The queue and the TV room put you in the mood. The hallway disorients you.

And you just know you are going to fall again and again. Bit, you have no way of knowing when it is going to be over.

We killed some time just sitting and watching people while we waited for our FP.

RnRC always made me a little nervous right before the car showsup. Not scared, like ToT, but a little on edge. It was a great, fast ride. It was just Nick and I, no Debbie.

We stopped in the Villains Store, and they actually had some villains merchandise! I found two shirts I liked, but only one in my size (Chernabog). We also bought a POTC shirt (although I don't know why either PoTC or Jack Skeletor are in there. Nick pointed out that Jack isn't even the villain of that movie.

We went into the Brown Derby, because, we wanted to eat inside. The food was actually very good, and the service was truly outstanding. But it was the most expensive meal of the trip, on a trip where the food was surpisingly expensive. I and Nick both had the pork tenderloin, and Debbie had the half chicken. I and Debbie then both had creme brulle, which was superb.

GMR was closed. It was open later.

We all went on Star Tours, even Debbie. It was only about a 5 minute wait. Debbie had not been on this in a few years. She and I went on the one in Disneyland the year it opened, and used to go together all the time. This remains a fun, wonderful, imaginative ride.

Muppet Vision always made me chuckle, even after having seen it numberous times. I can remember when Nick would giggle through the whole thing. We all enjoyed it one more time.

We went on GMR, which remains a great movie ride. I was a bit diaapointed, because the wicked witch's face was not moving properly. It was a fun ride overall, though.

For one last time, we enjoyed this trip's snack, cinammon coated almonds.

We all 3 went through One man's dream, something else Debbie has not done for a while. Walt's life was both amazing and inspirational, and they have some great artifacts in this display.

Speaking of artifacts, we all 3 went to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. We normally don't do this show, but the timing was just right. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We missed Toy Story Mania because we were growing weary of long lines, and kind of ran out of time before dinner.

We rode the boat from the Studios to Epcot. It takes about 30 minutes, and drops us off right by France, which us where our dinner reservations are.

We ate at Chefs de France. Arrived 1/2 hour early, still waited 1/2 in the cold. Lobster bisque was terrific. Debbie had French onion soup, which she called very good. Nick picked at a salad.

We all 3 had macaroni with cheese. This was not kids dish. It was marvelous!

debbie and I had crem brulle, Nick had chocolate cake. The crem brule was amazing!
We got stuck taking the bus back to the Wilderness Lodge, because my notes said both MK and the Studios closed early. The bus back to the Wilderness Lodge only took 15 minutes! But, we proved again this trip that you never know how long the bus will take, and the monorail is way more fun!

I had called both Tiffany and the Hyatt early in the day. The hyatt to guarantee late arrival, and Tiffany to push our pickup a bit later.

The ride back to the Hyatt on Tiffany was wonderful, as expected. The driver was prompt, curteous, and friendly. And the car is roomy and luxurious.

Check in at the Hyatt went without a hitch. The room was nice, although the beds and the room seemed small, because of where we had just left.

All in all, a great Disney day.
