Obrins At WDW March 2006 Ten New Things

People ask why we keep going back to WDW. More often then not, these are people who have never been there themselves. But, one of their arguments is that we have surely seen and done everything there is to do there by now.

So, I have started to keep a list each trip of 10 things that we have done for the first time on this trip. That is how varied the place is--I can always come up with at least 10 things that were new for us!

So,

10 Things We Never Did Before:

1. Evening EMH at Epcot. Not a great experience, overall. The rides were actually more crowded then they were during the day. I wouldnÕt do this again.
2. Evening EMH at MK. A great experience! Lots of fun rides with short lines. We will certainly do this again. The reason that this was new is that EMH used to be a morning only thing.
3. Expedition Everest. A great ride. Nick thought the ride did not live up to the hype, but we all agreed it was a great ride. Great but short thrills, visually stunning, awesome attention to detail, and a great back story.
4. Soaring. Admittedly, we had done this at DCA, but this was the first time at Epcot. Really, only the queue is different from DCA. That being said, this is a wonderful ride, imaginative and beautifully executed. This is a welcome addition to WDW. But, boy it was crowded!
5. Behind the Scenes Garden Tour. This was a lot of fun, got to see some details up close that we had never seen before. A change of pace from riding and sit down shows. I am glad we did it, but it probably wonÕt be a regular thing.
6. Traveling With Dalton. We have traveled to WDW with friends before, and even with other first timers. This is a great experience, because their first time is always such an OH WOW! For Dalton, everything was something he had never done before.
7. The Rainforest Cafe At Downtown Disney. I think we have eaten at the one in AK, and we actually used to have one in Denver. We all miss the place, and did enjoy the food and ambiance here. But, the service was kind of pathetic. We will probably go back again, overall.
8. Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show. We really did enjoy this show, it is worth seeing. This is likely to become a regular stop for us.
9. The Boat From MGM To Epcot. This may seem like a small thing, but this is a much more pleasant park hop then having to ride a bus. MGM to Epcot is a pleasant, no hassles little hop.
10. Lunch and Shopping In Japan. We have spent very little time in the Japanese pavilion in the past, and certainly had never eaten at the Hibachi restaurant here. This was a great meal and a good show. And we also enjoyed snooping around in the big Japanese store.
